Dear Parents,
This is the moment you have all been waiting for!! We WILL be having a Kindergarten Graduation this year!!! We will be holding it Thursday, May 21st at 9am. You must be at the church for 8:30am. It will look different this year because of the time we have lost to practice and be together in person. The kids must dress up for this occasion. Girls in dresses and boys in nice pants and button down shirts or little suits. We will provide the caps and gowns that day. The gowns will be returned to us after the graduation but caps along with the tassels will be for them to keep. The pews will be marked off for social distancing, so there is no limit on who you can invite. The kids will sit with you in the pews and will perform a few things that I believe they will know. They will stand up at their seats to perform. Awards will be brought to them at their seats during the ceremony. I am so very proud of each and every one of them. They have worked so hard and have earned this graduation! Let’s make this a graduation for them to remember forever!! I can’t wait to see you all and can’t thank you all enough for the time and effort you have spent in helping teach your children at home. It has been such a blessing to teach them and to see them grow!! God bless!!

Miss Smith

Kindergarten Parent Update Letter
March 18, 2020
Dear Parents,
I hope this letter finds you well. I know times are crazy and things may be a little scary right now, but remember God is bigger than all of this and He will pull us through. We will be starting school online this coming Monday. I hope it brings some order and relief to your day and that it will help the kids stay on track. It is important that they keep on learning but also that they are having fun and getting their minds off of everything going on around them. We will have an online classroom where I will post their daily activities. I will list what pages to do from their schoolwork, I will post review videos. I will teach some lessons online for them to watch, and will post some fun videos for them to see as well. I have also sent the tests home for them to take. Please only take them as scheduled. Make sure to keep a folder of their tests to be ready to turn in later. Classwork can be kept at home when they have completed it. Here is a daily schedule you can follow if needed. Remember our material will be posted each day at 8:30.
- 8:30- Worship (I will post some of their favorite songs)
- 8:45- Watch Phonics review and Math review videos
- 9:00 Start Phonics, numbers, and handwriting pages
- Take a break when finished (let them color, do play doh, play outside, etc,) just ideas
- Read with them for maybe 15 minutes in their readers. (I will list page numbers for that day)
- Take a lunch and play time break
- I will post a science lesson maybe every other day.
- I will also include other videos with fun things for them to do and recommend online things they can check out that are fun and educational.
This is not a concrete schedule you have to follow. It is just an idea of what will be in Google classroom each day and your child can complete in whatever way works for them. As long as they are learning and completing their work. I am praying for all of you. I hope I can talk to the kids soon. I miss them so much! I can’t wait to hear from all of you. Stay safe and healthy! God bless!

Miss Smith
Class News March 9th-13th! Revival Week
Newsletter for March 9th-13th
March 9, 2020
Dear Parents,
This week is REVIVAL WEEK!!!! We will be having a chapel service every day this week. We start each day at 8:45am and parents are welcome to come. This is the best week of the year and we are excited to see how God shows up! Because it is revival week, I will not schedule any tests this week. Our tests will be on Thursday, March 19th of next week. We will learn our next memory verse this week though which is X- “Exceeding great and precious promises are given unto us.” 2 Peter 1:4. Please practice this week.
Next Friday is Parent Teacher conferences. The date of that is March 20th. Please sign up in the office for your time. If you have a busy schedule, please sign up early. Spots will fill up fast and it is mandatory to come to those. We will be finishing up the third quarter. That means graduation is right around the corner and I will send out all the information about that in the next few weeks. I hope you can make it to some of our Revival services this week. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please email me at esmith@vcagators.net. I hope you have a great week! God bless!

March 2nd-6th Class News
Last Week: We went to the Children’s Museum on a field trip. I think the kids had lots of fun! I will probably do this field trip every year now! Thank you to all of the chaperones for all your help!
Phonics: We have begun learning long vowel sounds and how to mark them as well as how to mark short vowel sounds. Short Vowel Rule: If there is one vowel in a word, it makes the short vowel sound (cat, hen, hit, top, cut) and I put a smiley face on top.
Long Vowel Rule: If there are two vowels in a word, the first vowel says its name and the second vowel is silent. (tape, read, kite, hope, cute)
We have also begun Special Sounds. I have sent home the first list of special sounds. Special sounds are sounds in words that will not follow our vowel rules and make their own sounds. We will circle special sounds when it comes to their work.
Numbers: We are continuing going over number families, telling time, now to the half hour, and now we are counting pennies, nickels, and dimes. Practice counting by 5’s and 10’s. As well as studying numbers that come before and after other numbers.
Memory Verse: W- “What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee.” Psalm 56:3
They must practice every night.
Events: March 9th-13th– REVIVAL WEEK (chapel every day this week starting at 8:30am) Parents are welcome to come.
We will have a number oral evaluation on Thursday and a Phonics test on Friday.

Don’t Forget: I will send home our class snack schedule. Please do not forget to check the schedule every day. I will start sending home a big bag in your child’s school bag when it is their snack day. You can send the snack back in the big bag. It will also work as a reminder. I also ask you to check your child’s folder every day. This is how we communicate. I ask that you sign the boxes where it says parent’s signature, so I know you are checking their folders. Make sure to subscribe to receive our class email on our school website as well as to receive Wednesdays Word. That way you are receiving the email and you will get a hard copy in your child’s folder. I will send home the snack bag with your child when their day is the next day. It is a large dark blue Disney bag. Please remember your snack days. Please keep work I send home at home. Don’t forget to sign chart each night. Revival week is next week!!!! Also please follow this link and take this quick survey if you have not already. https://forms.gle/nhrPePRsRSCff4mF8
