Class T-shirts!

Dear Parents,

As I have told some of you, we had a typo on our class t-shirts. The company was kind enough to remake them for us. They are now in. You can pick up your child’s class shirt from the school office. The sooner the better. If you have another child here at the school, I sent it home with them. Hope you all have an amazing summer! God bless!

March 27th-31st Class News

Last week: We took Spring pictures! Those should be coming in soon. Then Saturday, we had our annual auction. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our school! I hope you enjoyed yourselves!

Phonics: We will be reciting our rules and practicing them everyday. I would like you to practice with your child at home as well. We are now marking vowels. I have sent home the Special Sound charts. Special Sounds are basically sounds in a word that do not follow our usual rules. We will be circling special sounds.

Short vowel rule: If there is one vowel in word, it makes the short vowel sound and I put a smiley face on top.

Long Vowel rule: If there are two vowels in a word, the first vowel says its name and the second vowel is silent. I put a stick on top the first and cross out the second.

Numbers: We have introduced subtraction last week. They will not be tested on it quite yet. Keep practicing adding, reviewing numbers, time, the penny, the dime, the nickel, and the quarter and number words. We are now doing time when the long hand is on the 3, 6, and 12. (1:00,1:15, 1:30, 2:00, 2:15, and 2:30 etc.)

Memory Verse of the Week: We are now finished with our memory verses! They did a great job! Remember scripture is probably the best thing they could ever memorize. =)
