September 8-12 Newsletter

September 8, 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a restful weekend. It’s time to get ready for a brand new week.

This week there is no written homework. It will mostly be oral homework and blend book.

I am happy to say that our class earned their Marble Jar Party and this Friday they will get to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. We have gone over our community helpers and some of them are the policeman, the firefighter, the pastor, the mail carrier, and many others. They can wear their costume and accessories over their uniform or over their spirit shirt and jeans if they pay the $1 for dress down. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

Grandparent’s day is next Friday on September 19th. Kindergarten will dress up in their cowboy costumes. So you can start looking now for that if you haven’t already.

This week we are doing our “D” memory verse. “Depart from evil and do good.” Psalm 34:14.

The letters we will be working on this week are M, H, and S. We will be working on these blend ladders all week. For numbers we are introducing 11-14 and we are counting by 1’s and 10’s. We are also working on ordinal numbers such as first, second, third, etc. Go over this often with your child at home during daily activities.

Just a few reminders: don’t forget to check the snack schedule for your child’s snack day as well as the show and tell schedule so they don’t miss out. Thank you all so much for keeping up with this. You have all been so great! Next week, I will begin a different format for my newsletter that will hopefully be easier to follow. I hope you all have blessed week. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. Again, my email is God bless!

Love in Christ,

Erin Smith
