Happy Monday and Happy Dr.Seuss Week! I hope you all had a great weekend! Don’t forget to sell those auction tickets this week! Here is our class news!

Phonics:  We are starting Book H this week for homework. Keep practicing marking vowels and going over special sounds.

 

Numbers: Review number families, practicing one or two families a day. Really focus on practicing time with the long hand on the 6 (4:30, 5:30, etc.) and start practicing with the long hand on the 3 (2:15, 1:15, etc.) Practice addition and subtraction and we are introducing adding multiple coins. (ex: nickel plus 3 pennies = 8cents)

Memory Verse of the Week: We are finished but keep practicing. We are also memorizing Psalm 23 for Kindergarten graduation, so I will send a copy home. Do a few verses each day.

Don’t Forget: Make sure to check snack schedule as well as Show and Tell schedule every day. Please sign chart in folder every day. This week is Dr.Seuss week! Today we had crazy hair day, Tuesday is crazy hat day, Wednesday is crazy socks day, Thursday is crazy shoes day, and Friday is crazy outfit day. Students must wear jeans on crazy outfit day with the rest of their crazy outfit. Don’t forget to buy and sell tickets for the VCA auction. This is a big fundraiser for our school and very important. Please come and support your school! The theme is VCA Goes West! Don’t forget that the class with the most guests at the auction will win a class party, donuts and milk with a visit from Mrs.Nichols’ pet guinea pigs.

 

Homework:

Monday: Read Book G with smoothness and accuracy. Practice special sounds chart 8, review adding multiple coins (1 nickel + 3 pennies= 8cents), practicing addition, subtraction, and time.

Tuesday: Read Book H pages 2-3. Practice special sounds charts 7 & 8, review adding multiple coins, practice subtraction and time.

Thursday: Read Book H pages 4-5. Practice special sounds chart 6, 7, & 8, review time, coins, ½, addition, and subtraction.

March 16th-20th Parent Newsletter

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the sunshine! Here is our class news!

Last Week: We took Kindergarten graduation pictures. They looked very cute; I can’t wait until you all get to see them. Parent/Teacher conferences went great. It was so good to get to see all of you. I also hope that they were very informative and encouraging.

Phonics:  We are continuing with Book G for homework this week. We are also introducing chart 8 for special sounds. Keep reading and keep practicing!

Numbers: Review number families, practicing one or two families a day. Really focus on practicing time with the long hand on the 6 (4:30, 5:30, etc.) and the long hand on the 3 (2:15, 1:15, etc.) Keep practicing subtraction and addition, know what numbers come before, after, and in between, make sure they know their coins, and know what ½ is.

Memory Verse of the Week: We are finished our memory verses! They have all received their last card! Keep practicing those memory verses though; they are so important for all of us to know every day. They will also be saying them at graduation so keep up the practice.

Events: March 19th– The Bird Lady will be coming for our in-house field trip

March 20th – Dress Down Day for $1 (Spirit shirts or Christian t-shirts only with blue jeans that are not decorated)

March 23rd-27th– Dr.Seuss Week (I am sending home the schedule for that today)

March 28th– VCA Auction (BUY and SELL those tickets!)

The auction is coming up very soon! Remember that the class who has the most guests at the auction will win breakfast with Mrs.Nichols’ guinea pigs! They don’t want to miss out on that. Just a few things that you can bid on at the auction are principal for the day, visit with a Veterinarian, and a Laser Tag party plus many, many more. They will also do a drawing for tuition discounts. Students’ names go into the drawing for every ticket sold!  You do not want to miss this auction. It is a wonderful fundraiser for our school. Our auction basket is all set, thank you all for your donations and thank you Mrs.Hrabovsky for putting it all together.

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! Here is our class news…

Last Week: Last week was revival week. The kids really enjoyed it and God showed up. What a blessing to have this at our school. I was excited to see some of you come. I hope you enjoyed it as well! In class we introduced time with the long hand on the three. This is brand new but they will need to practice it and know how to do it because it will be on tests very soon.

March 2nd-6th Parent Newsletter

Happy month of March! Can you believe it is March already!? I feel like Kindergarten Graduation is just around the corner! Hope you all had a great weekend! Here is the classroom news.

Last Week: We introduced time with the long hand on the three. This is brand new but they will need to practice it and know how to do it because it may up on tests very soon.

Phonics:  We are continuing with Book F this week. Also, please keep practicing those special sounds charts. We are on chart 7.

Numbers: Review number families, practicing one or two families a day. Really focus on practicing time with the long hand on the 6 (4:40, 5:30, etc.) and start practicing with the long hand on the 3 (2:15, 1:15, etc.) Also, we are introducing subtraction this week. We are starting off small and will grow from there.

 

Memory Verse of the Week: “Y” “Ye are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14

 

Events: March 2nd-6th– Revival Week

March 6th– Free Dress Down Day (Spirit shirts or Christian t-shirts only with blue jeans that are not decorated)

Don’t Forget: Make sure to check snack schedule as well as Show and Tell schedule every day. Please sign chart in folder every day. This week is revival week meaning each day of next week we will be having extended chapel time as a whole school. This won’t affect anything at home, just our daily schedule for the week. I am excited for this time and ask you all to just be praying for the school as a whole and I will be praying for all of you. =) God bless!

Monday: Practice “Y” memory verse. Read Book F pages 10-11. Review number names, review coins and adding them especially nickels, review time (2:15, 3:00, 4:30, etc.) and addition.

 

Tuesday: Practice “Y” memory verse. Read Book F pages 12-15. Review the ruler, what number is in between (3_5), and the dime and penny

 

Thursday: Practice “Y” memory verse. Read Book F with smoothness and accuracy. Review marking vowels, special sounds, subtraction (1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1), the ruler, money, and time (3:15, 2:30, 1:00, etc.)
