April 27th – May 1st Parent Newsletter

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! We have lots of news with graduation right around the corner!

Last Week: We had our marble jar party last Friday. Everyone’s costumes were super cute! They earned it and had lots of fun.

Phonics: We are continuing with Book I this week for homework. Keep reading everyday and practice circling special sounds and marking vowels. This is very important.

Numbers: Review number families, practicing one or two families a day. Start making up word problems and have your child give you combinations and answers. Also keep practicing addition, subtraction, time, and money.

Memory Verse of the Week: We are finished but keep practicing. We are also memorizing Psalm 23 for Kindergarten graduation. Do a few verses each day.

 

Events: May 1st– Graduation money and Baby pictures are DUE!

May 1st– Teddy Bear Picnic (celebrating summer birthdays)

May 5th– Cinco de Mayo party

May 14th– Field trip to Bookoo Bounce

May 15th– Kindergarten Graduation!

Don’t Forget: Make sure to check snack schedule every day. Graduation is coming up. There is lots to do. I have gotten mostly everyone’s t-shirt sizes, if you have not sent money in yet please do so by tomorrow. If you have not sent in graduation money, please send in by this Friday. The fee is $25, this will cover refreshments and decorations for our graduation. I am also asking for you to email me a baby picture of your child for one of the slideshows for graduation. Please send in by this Friday! When I have the DVD information ready, I will send out an order form for that as well. This Friday, we will also be having a Teddy Bear Picnic. Your child may bring a teddy bear with them to school on Friday to join us on the picnic. We will be celebrating summer birthdays. I will send notes home to the parents whose child has a summer birthday.

 

Homework:

Monday: Read Book I pages 11-13. Review special sounds, addition, word problems, and before/after. Practice verses and lines for graduation as well.

Tuesday: Read Book I pages 14-15. Review special sounds, number recognition, subtraction, and time. Practice verses and lines for graduation.

Thursday: Read Book I, read as much as possible with smoothness and accuracy.  Review special sounds, addition, subtraction, word problems, time and coins. Practice verses and lines for graduation.

Field Trip is on May14th not May 8th

Dear parents,

On the lunch order forms, it says the Kindergarten field trip is on May 8th but it is actually on May 14th the day before graduation. Please keep that in mind when filling out lunch forms. Thank you and God bless!

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! Here is our class news…

Last Week: Last week, the upper grades all had testing and our class had to be super quiet during the week. They did a great job! Friday, we had our field trip. I would like to thank all the parents who came and chaperoned and drove for our field trip. You were all a huge help. Thanks again!

Don’t Forget: Make sure to check snack schedule every day. We have stopped with show and tell to have more time to practice for graduation for the rest of the year. We are 4 weeks away! I will be sending t-shirt orders home soon for class shirts. I will also be sending home a letter all about graduation and what you need to know. We will also be having a field trip on our last full day of school, May 14th, to Bookoo Bounce. It will be an end of the year party for us. I will send permission slips home soon. I just want to give you all a heads up on everything coming up.

Happy Monday! Welcome back from Easter vacation! Here is our class news.

Last Week: I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break!

Phonics: We are continuing with Book H for homework. Keep practicing those special sounds. All three charts.

Numbers: Review number families, practicing one or two families a day. Work on time, money, before and after, addition, and subtraction.

Memory Verse of the Week: We are finished but keep practicing. We are also memorizing Psalm 23 for Kindergarten graduation, so I will send a copy home. Do a few verses each day.

 

Events: April 14th-17th– 1st-8th grade TESTING

April 17th– Zoo Field Trip

April 23rd-24th– A.C.S.I. Art Festival

Don’t Forget: Make sure to check snack schedule as well as Show and Tell schedule every day. Please sign chart in folder every day. This Friday is our class field trip to the Zoo. Please don’t forget to send in permission slips and money if you have not already. Also, don’t forget to fill out the back of permission form in case of emergencies. Graduation is right around the corner! I will send be sending home what your child may need to practice at home just to make sure they are ready. This is our last week of show and tell. We will be using the afternoon time to practice for graduation. I will also be sending home a letter about graduation and everything you need to know for that soon.
