August 24th-28th Parent Newsletter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a brand new week! Here is our class news!

Last Week: Last week was our first full week of school. Thank you all for bringing snacks each day for the class. The kids enjoyed them. I sent home mats and blankets on Friday to get washed. If you did not send back today, please send it tomorrow. We started letters I and U and have gone over numbers 1-5. We are continuing with our vowels this week and learning up to number 10.

Phonics: In Phonics we will be learning the letters E and A. Please make sure your child recognizes these letters, know what sounds they make, and can give you some words that start with these letters as well as I and U.

Numbers: In numbers we will be learning 6-10 and learning to write numbers 1 and 2.

Memory Verse of the Week: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:31

Events: September 7, 2015- Labor Day No School

Don’t Forget: Please don’t forget to check your child’s folder each day. I send home important information in the folders and the behavior chart/ homework chart need to be initialed every day. Also, please check the snack schedule each day because we do not want the class to have no snack. I will start off the year sending home a reminder each day if it is your child’s snack day. I will also be sending home a show and tell schedule; it will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Homework:

Monday: Please practice “B” memory verse, review the letter I, U, and E with your child and practice writing his or her name. They must write it with the first letter capitalized and the rest are lower case. Also, review numbers 1-6.

Tuesday: Please practice “B” memory verse, review the letter I, U, and E with your child and practice writing his or her name. They must write it with the first letter capitalized and the rest are lower case. Also, review numbers 1-7

Thursday: Please practice “B” memory verse, review letters I, U, E, and A and keep practicing their name. Review numbers 1-10, make sure they recognize them, can count objects, and write numbers 1 and 2.

Parent Newsletter August 17th-21st

Hello Parents!!! Here is our first weekly newsletter of the year! Please read and let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Enjoy!

Last Week: Last week was our first days of school! We are starting a brand new year and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us. I loved meeting all of you last week at school and at open house. If you missed open house, I sent home your welcome packet and carpool signs. Please place your car pool sign in your windows to make carpool much smoother for all of us. Also, please make sure to read the welcome packet. Everything you need to know is in that packet. If you have any other questions, you can always ask.

Phonics: In Phonics we are learning the letter I and will be introducing the letter U on Thursday. Please review this letter with your child at home asking them for words that begin with I or may have the letter I in them. Use flashcards and pictures, any tool that will help.

Numbers: In numbers we are on the number one but we will be continuing each day with a new number. So please be reviewing numbers 1-5.

Memory Verse of the Week: “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Please practice memory verse at home each night. Your welcome packet has a list of all the memory verses for the year. So make sure to hold onto that.
