Our Final Parent Newsletter

May 16, 2016

Dear Parents,

It is our final week of school! I am so proud of all the kids and how well they have done. This is our last parent  newsletter of the year. Here are some reminders for this week.

I will be sending home all of their materials on Wednesday this week. So be looking for that when they get home.  We also do not have any homework this week. I will send home one thing for them to practice for the graduation but that’s it. I still encourage them to keep reading though. Every bit of reading helps!

Thursday, is our field trip to Bookoo Bounce. I believe everyone had paid and is ready to go. They must have socks on that day with school shoes and they can wear jeans and their class shirt that will be sent home this week.

Friday is the big day! Your child must come to the classroom just like a regular day. They must be here no later than 8:30am. The ceremony will begin at 9. Please send their graduation gown on a hanger that morning. Remember your child must wear light colored dresses or dress shirts for graduation. After the ceremony, I will collect the gowns, but they may keep their hats and tassels.

If you have not paid your graduation fee, please do so as soon as possible so we can pay for the cake and balloons.

Let’s help the kids finish strong these last few days! They have made it this far and they are ready for 1st grade!!!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please contact me at esmith@vcagators.net or send me a note. God bless!

Love in Christ,

Erin Smith

May 2nd-6th Parent Newsletter

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is doing well! Here is our class news…

Last Week: I sent home a letter all about graduation! Don’t forget pictures and graduation fee is due this Friday, May 6th.  We also had our field trip to the Zoo. Thank you to all of the parents who came and chaperoned, you were a huge help!!

Phonics: We are circling special sounds, please read the charts with your child at home. They should be memorizing these charts so they know exactly which letters or blends are specials sounds. We are also marking vowels and we are reading!

Numbers: We will keep practicing subtracting, adding, telling time, counting dimes and nickels, spelling our number words, and recognizing our numbers. We are now making sure they recognize the quarter as well.

Memory Verse of the Week: We will be doing Psalm 23 for our graduation. Please have them practice this part this week…

You prepare a feast for me     in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil.     My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me     all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord     forever
