|Last Week: Last week, we finished our memory verses. We will be working on one more for graduation. (Psalm 23) They wont have to recite for a grade though. We also had our auction on Saturday. Thank you to everyone who contributed. We were able to bless the Kleyle family and raise money for our school. It was a great turnout.
Phonics: We are now on our second special sound chart. They are learning how to circle special sounds as well as reading words with those sounds in them. We have also been doing reading groups and they are doing great!
When there is one vowel in a word, it makes the short vowel sound and we put a smiley face on top. (cat, cup, bag, etc.)
When there are two vowels in a word, the first vowel says its name and the second vowel is silent. We put a stick on top the first and we cross out the second. ( cape, read, main, etc.)
Numbers: We are going over time, money, adding, what comes before and after numbers, and number words. We have introduced time to the quarter hour. (1:15, 2:15, etc.)
Events: March 28th– Move up day (just for the kids to see their class for next year)
